Christine Peck

MSW/LCSW
Director of Psychosocial Services

Christine Peck has been with the company as a hospice social worker since 1999 and was recently promoted to Director of Psychosocial Services. In her current role, she is responsible for overseeing the non-nursing departments: social work, spiritual care, bereavement, and volunteers. Although she spent nearly seven years as a clinical social worker for pediatric organ transplant and trauma patients, she knew she wanted to work in hospice care one day.

Christine has had a lifelong desire to help people and has always found herself offering assistance during times when most other people would be unsure of how to help. The people she encounters in her job are what she loves the most. “I love working with the patients, their caregivers and families,” she explains. “I provide them supportive counseling and anticipatory guidance, education, and empower them to make difficult decisions and talk openly with one another to get through the difficult times.”

Since working in hospice takes many special skills and personality traits, Christine is able to use her understanding and experience to best serve her patients and their families. “It’s important to have sensitivity to the challenges one faces as they prepare to say goodbye to the people and things they love in this life,” she said.
